About the Copy Advice/Pre-Clearance Facility: This service allows advertisers, agencies and media to seek copy advice(1) or
pre-clearance(2) where available. These services are currently available in:
Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany (Misleadingness), Germany (Taste and offence), Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom.
Copy advice is also available in Germany, but enquiries can for the moment not be submitted through this facility.
The facility allows for an easy submission of requests for copy advice or clearance to selected countries. All correspondence following
a submission will be directly between the enquiring party and the self-regulatory organisation (SRO). Each system is unique and reflects
the local traditions, language, culture and history. The content and nature of the advice may therefore vary between countries. Turnaround
times may vary between countries.
Conditions apply in most countries. For example, a fee or membership to the organisation may be required. The conditions will be automatically indicated
when you select a country.
Once a submission has been made, you will automatically receive a confirmation with contact details of the SRO dealing with your
enquiry. Any questions should be directed directly to the organisation dealing with your request and not to The European Advertising
Standards Alliance or Clearcast (UK) (unless Clearcast is dealing with your enquiry).
Confidentiality: All confidential information submitted by or on behalf of advertisers will be shared only with and held in confidence
by the organisation(s) dealing with the request. Accordingly it will not disclose, copy, reproduce or distribute any such confidential
information, except for when it is a request for pre-clearance and the information is required in connection with the clearance and
broadcasting of the commercial, or where the organisation is required to do so by law or regulation or by governmental or competent
regulatory authority.
All documents will automatically deleted from this facility 15 days after submission.
Payments of fees: There are no added charges to submit work through this facility rather than submitting directly to SROs. The fee
applicable will be indicated in the submission page as you select the countries to which the enquiry is sent. Once the enquiry has been received,
the SRO will get in touch with you to arrange for the payment of the fee if any.
